Designed by Giancarlo Fassina and Michele de Lucchi, the Tolomeo Braccio is a timeless wall lamp from the Italian manufacturer Artemide. It has glossy aluminium adjustable arms, a black polycarbonate diffuser that can be adjusted in various directions, and polished aluminium joints and hinges with counterbalancing springs. The wall mounting is also crafted from polished aluminium. With its flexible arms and adjustable diffuser, the Tolomeo Braccio allows for customizable direct lighting that can be directed and redirected as desired. This item is new, comes with a label and its original box.
Michele de Lucchi (born 8 November 1951) is an Italian architect and designer. De Lucchi has designed lamps and furniture for well-known Italian and European companies, such as Artemide, Olivetti, Alias, Unifor, Hermès and Alessi. For Olivetti he was Director of Design from 1988 to 2002 and developed experimental projects for Compaq Computers, Philips, Siemens and Vitra. During this period, he developed a number of theories on the evolution of workplaces. The Tolomeo Braccio wall lamp is an icon of Italian modern design. It was designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina for the Artemide company. It won the Compasso d'Oro design prize in 1989.
