Set of IDEA Chairs
Price

Designed by Molnár J. Iván as part of the iconic IDEA dining set, these mid-century chairs are a standout expression of Hungarian modernism. Produced in the 1970s, the design represents a bold geometric language. Each chair consists of a chrome-plated tubular steel frame with a distinctive cubic silhouette that plays on symmetry and negative space. The original design includes decorative black rounded elements - some of which are missing across the set, though the overall aesthetic remains cohesive and visually compelling. The seat and backrests are upholstered in a high-quality fabric with a refined grey-blue-purple tone, offering a soft, tonal contrast to the crisp chrome structure. Minor staining is present across some chairs, though discreet and visible only upon close inspection. The frames are in good vintage condition, showing light wear consistent with age and use. A rare and collectible ensemble; architectural, unconventional, and increasingly sought after in the context of Central European mid-century design.
