Pierantonio Bonacina brand was born in 1909. With a similar approach to that of his cousin Vittorio, Pierantonio also began collaborating with numerous designers starting from the late 1950s. Among the most significant products in the company's history are the Manta armchair by Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi, the Continuum armchair by Gio Ponti, the Nastro armchair by Joe Colombo, and the Martingala armchair by Marco Zanuso; the most famous and recognizable piece is the suspended Egg armchair by Nanna Jørgen Ditzel, launched in 1957 and remained in production for many years. The Pierantonio Bonacina company, led by the third generation in the 1990s, specializes in the use of synthetic materials that are woven and intertwined alongside rattan strands, reinterpreting traditional techniques and processes. Notable collaborations include those with young designers Franco Bizzozzero and Giuseppe Viganò, the patent for Krilon, and the use of Bopifil, Polypeel, and Polycore, highlighting the focus on outdoor furniture. In 2010, the company was acquired by the Matteo Grassi group. It was declared bankrupt in 2014, and the following year it was acquired by the Bonacina 1889 brand.
